Had a $7,000 student loan I didn't end up using because I qualified for a scholarship and the rest I will charge.
I do work and have some money saved up that I actually EARNED (been saving like crazy this past year) but that is staying in the bank.
Yeah, you made one hell of a good choice. Why are these people doubting the demand for them? There are more than 400,000 individual stores that sell video games, so that means that they wouldnt even have enough for a single console per store...

You'll make a killing bro //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

My girl works for wal-mart, and what they are doing is handing out tickets at a certain time the night of launch, similar to what they did with the xbox 360's. She actually got to play the ps3 and the new nintento the other day at a big meeting they had with the reps, and thats where they gave the info as to what stores were getting what # of units. She offered to get me a ticket to buy one now, but ive never been a PS fan myself, and find it quite funny that when the 360 came out, the biggest critics (PS fanboys) were *****ing about how there was 2 different levels of console, and the price.

im sorry, but a fully loaded xbox 360 for $100 less then a base model ps3 just seems a bit high

Not when you consider the blu-ray dvd player and how XBOX is charging 250-300 for an add-on HD dvd player because I plan on using mine for my 65" 1080P TV.....

No...At X06, exciting details about the highly anticipated Xbox 360 HD DVD Player were also revealed. Available in mid-November 2006 in North America for $199.99 (estimated retail price)*, in the U.K., France and Germany for €199.99 (£129.99) (estimated retail price)* and other territories in 2007, the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player comes with the Universal Pictures blockbuster film Peter Jackson’s “King Kong” on HD DVD (for a limited time) and the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote. Users can just add Xbox 360 HD DVD Player to Xbox 360 to create the ultimate home-theatre experience.

So $199, with a HD-DVD (worth $20-$25) and the media remote ($39.99 i think)

Plus, correct me if im wrong, but I do believe that blu-ray is getting DOMINATED by HD-DVD in home entertainment at the moment (in reguards of sales, cost of units, and rate of return- i read somewhere that the rate in return for blu-ray is somewhere near 40% while hd-dvd is less then 1/2 of that)

"• North America: 400,000 Units

• Japan: 100,000 Units

Does that look like a lot to you? Keep in mind Microsoft's global launch was 1.5 million units, and there were still massive shortages."''

It goes onto say that people will be pissed cuz Sony claimed there would be more out but there isn't. 1.2 million out by X-mas STILL isn't alot. 360 was sold out everywhere for the first 2 months and people on EBay made a KILLING. 1.2 million is like 3 in EVERY electronics store from nov 17th till xmas.....It's not that much man

I credit you for doing that getting them in advance that IS the sole purpose, BUT i have to say this too. Its people like you that makes it difficult for the rest of us to receive ours or even purchase 1 without getting racked across the coals. with that being said good luck my man

i wish you luck man.. i just wouldnt be buying them on credit.. would make me a little nervous.

Sony estimates it had around 500,000 PS2s available day of launch. By contrast, NPD reported that Microsoft sold around 326,000 units by the end of November 2005. However, the hard-to-find next-gen console moved just another 281,000 units during December, bringing the 2005 total to around 607,000 units--half the number of PS3s Sony believes it will sell this year in North America.
