Yes it is. Check out how big the gap would be if it weren't! Lol I don't really know how he got it apart, but how strong can the motor be if the top plate was removed from it?

that was my exact question, op you might want to also state that there will be a re-alignment fee on the motor, due to the fact that the top plate is separated.
