I used this for a few years with my system when i used to be into loud car audio. Worked great all the way until i took it out about a year ago. I looked up the current prices of these things and i can see that their not worth much at all anymore so i guess $30 shipped OBO

Ill give u .99 cent and u ship first.
don't be an ***.. I am assuming since everyone on here told you they don't work and you probably never used one they are right... so you start spreading that shit too? they do work but are not meant to do what people expect them to do which is back up an already failing electrical..

Just to throw it out there, Ive used Caps in the past and while I never really had bad voltage problems (Running like 500 watts) lights dimmed and caps fixed it perfectly, also had volt meter on 1 and it fixed dimming and I never dropped below 12. So they do work.

I said they work...? they are meant to buffer transient waves.. if you are dimming on low power waves then when the big ones hit you are really failing these won't solve your problem

i used this when i ran an audio system with a 500watt eclipse amp and 12" eclipse sub. It seemed to have fixed the problem back then, plus i switched over to retro hids and didnt want the ballasts getting dif strength signals when the bass hit. I havent looked into car audio or anyting in at least the past 3 years and have had this boxed up for a while. Im sure newer stuff has come out but i want it gone...

your ballasts should be regulated..

I sent you a pm. i'll pick this up if you will ship first. I can send paypal as soon as I get it.

Tons of references, check my sig. I'm also in Kyle's sig so there at least 1 for you right there :p

Oh and as for capacitors working... they do indeed work. For slight voltage drops/dimming issues, they do fix electrical issues, but if there is a huge amount of sustained current, the capacitor wont do much for you. An upgraded alt/battery combo is far more practical, and you will get more for your money, but if its just a small electrical problem, a capacitor can definitely help.

I have talked to several of my professors with PHDs in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and they all said the same thing. With a large amount of SUSTAINED current, the capacitor will not help because it releases its charge and then has to store charge again before releasing it. So after that initial release of charge, it wont provide any more 'support' for your battery and alternator.
