Up for sale or trade is an Alpine 7949 head unit and a PXA-H600 Digital Phase Processor.
The beauty of this combination is the sound quality when you match the 2 together. Basically the 7949 is a high quality transport for the signal and a remote controller for the PXA-H600. You send the signal downstream to the PXA-H600 via a fiber optic cable (can also hook up a CD changer via fiber optics to the processor if you can find/have one). The phase processor can set time delays, has a parametric eq, and has phase corrections. It has an automatic set up for time delay and phase correction. Basically you plug the mic into the unit and engage the automatic set-up. I found that this set up wasn't perfect but got it pretty close and I just had to tweak it a few ms in the time delay to get it just right.
Inside the processor, the raw fiber optic input is decoded with 20-bit burr brown D/A's. You know about the sound Q of these two items when paired up.
The head unit is missing the trim ring but that is it, everything else is there. The Processor has everything included also, including the original mic that came w/ the unit for auto-setting your processor, toslink cable, Ai-Net cable and wire harness. The remote control unit for the processor has a small piece of the plastic that has been cracked off and is missing from the unit (see pics). There is no need to have the remote control unit visible really as you can control the PXA-H600 from the 7949 if your interested in them as a pair. Everything is in 100% working order and sounds wonderful. I'm going to miss it but I am going a little simpler in my new install.
Asking prices for the units are as follows; $200+shipping for the head unit and $200+shipping for the Processor, or $380+shipping for the pair. If you don't feel these prices are fair make an offer, cost me over $1400 for the pair new.
New price $185 +shipping each $360 +shipping for both.
Looking for an Alpine PDX 1.1000 or would also consider a Sundown SAZ-1500D or SAE-1000D for trade.
I only have Ebay feedback at the moment as I've just started using these forums as a tool to trade/sell, my username on ebay is: jdallen23
