FS : NIB PS3 Slim slight issue

is it true that ps3 slim's downside is that it can't play ps2 games? or can they also play ps2 games? that's just what i heard.

I'm pretty sure thats the deal. My friends newer gen (still regular size) ps3 doesn't have the backwards compatibility feature and mine is the older gen and has that feature. So I'm guessing that feature was disabled and carried over to the slim versions

Most ps3s can't play ps2 games. Some can play ps1, and ps2, but most can only play ps1 games. Even then they can only play some of them. The ones that can play them are like the motorstorm bundled systems, and I think the Metal Gear Solid 4 systems.

Dave, can this be fixed, or what's the deal on it? Any more info? Is this a common problem?

Believe it or not, Most PS3's cant play PS1 or PS2 games.

Yes it can be fixed if you know of a place that works on counsels. I dident want to mess with it so I just went and bought another one. Price to fix is un knowen. Some people may not even care. Ive gone my whole life playing video games with a cord attached to the controller. The thing that got me was having to have 75 feet of ethernet cable running threw my house just to get it online. LOL someone with a tv closer to their router may not mind.

Well its not old in box because its never been used really. No need to get technical. I have explained the situation at hand. If yo want it contact me if not go troll on SMD or something. So many people out there would have been shady and just relisted this as a new working unit on ebay. Im letting people know straight up there is a slight issue. But thanks a lot for chiming in bud. I'll keep you posted on any new developments.

there is a need to get technical,you have not explained the situation in it's entirety.You have a brand new ps3 but you go buy another,there is a reason why you didn't take it back to store and some people would like to know,just because you are making known the wireless issue doesn't tell the whole story

Yes I did, I stated it was bought on ebay, hence no Warranty. Hence the reason I went and got another one. The seller was a prick and would not do a refund. So i am taking a loss and passing on a 95% functional unit to someone who cant afford a new one. Any other questions I would be happy to answer them for all of you.

hey cockbolt, you are advertising something new in box that was sold to you as defective from some guy on ebay. How the fock do you think its new in box when it has had two different owners and isnt fully functional? quit being an asshat and maybe this would have been sold by now. But hey, I guess the term NEW IN BOX can also mean different things, like not fully functional, not new, and had an previous owner who could have taken a piss in the disc drive. Yea, keep me updated though.
