as i remember the older version it was 196oz mag, 8"er but there was 3 bolts that went from the bottom plate all the way thru to the threaded basket. confirm please...

Ur correct.. There was the old 196’s and the newer 228oz motor that also have the 3 bolt attachment that was used on the MojoM3 and also is still used on the new Mojo and then there was the 4" coil Mad MAx. I have the 228’s though. U interested in a few?

Not offense taken. These motors are decent motors I think and have had success in daily setups as well as in the lanes. $145 for the motor I think is a good deal considering they can be a great platform for custom built subs.
And ill try and get the gap measurements tonight. I just need to makes some shims to get accurate measurements.
forgive the question but was just brought back to the top of my mind reading through this. what is/what is the purpose of a faraday ring?

marcotheclepto, the faraday rings help negate the effects of the coil back EMF modulating the flux field which creates non-linearities. It also lowers inductance which allows the sub to play higher in frequency with a smoother response profile among other things.
