I'm getting rid of this amp because I can't seem to sell my system as a whole. I got this amp a little over a year ago from Scottie Johnson. This is one of the 8 or so amps he was selling a little while back.

I ran the amp at .75 ohms daily for about 6-8 months, then went to 1 ohm daily from there on out after I had my sub reconed to 2 ohm DVC. It's been completely stable and works perfectly.

The only thing you need to watch out for is your electrical system. A stock electrical will not feed this amp; I recommend at least the big 3, upgraded front battery, and an extra battery in the rear. The protection circuit comes on at or around 10v.

$400 shipped, Paypal ONLY. NO TRADES. Shipping to continental US only. AK, HI, and PR will have additional shipping costs.

could it do 2000rms @ 2 ohms daily on big 3, and a yellowtop? Assuming I can keep voltage up

I don't even need quite that much power atm but if it could pretty easily put that out (considering its rated to do 3600) then I think this is a good choice of amp for me. I just don't want to have any problems with it

Yes, at 2 ohms + rise, I think you'd be fine. The amp is actually rated 3600w @ 2 ohm, so you'd have all that power on tap. It's when you really start dipping at 1 ohm and lower that it starts to draw massive current. Running it at 2 ohms will leave you with a lot of headroom in case you want more power, which is not a bad thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Alright thats what I was thinking. I figured if it can do well over 3k on a solid electrical i could probably get maybe 1.5-2k out of it on a weak one. Exactly what is modded about it? I've read about the mods to these things but you said this one still has the protection circuit in, so what is changed about it?

you can pm me if you'd like

These things really put out rated power?
I have the big 3, trunk battery and a H.O. alt and would want to run it at 1ohm daily.... LMK
I don't know for sure because I haven't measured it myself. I hear that if you have the electrical to back it up, then it will put out. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Also you ran this thing for that long with just two batts at .75? No wander you know what it takes to get the protect to come on...

I had a yellow top, nsb big 3 and 250A alt and it wouldnt hold it at 1..

Yep. I had it cut in and out when I only had 1 batt. I added another and that solved all the problems. Never had it cut out again, even on tones.

Can you explain the mod? if it was done then wouldn't the amp put out a considerable more amount of power than rated or is it just to let it run @ .75 mono? my 3600sx will run 1800x2@ .5 ohms or 3700x1 @ 1ohm but never had it that low. just curious is all.

From my understanding, it allows the amp to be ran under 2 ohms and at higher voltages. I do not have detailed information, like what exactly was replaced/added and why.

This is at least good for a bump.

Do you think this would be to much for 2 JL 13 7's.

I just got them and I am considering a Ma Audio 802 or the 4000

cause I don't feel like spending $1400-$2000 on 2 jl 1000 amps.

Well, my belief is that there's never too much power, only too little. With that being said, if you've got too much power, you can always adjust the gains. If you've got too little power, then you'll be cranking the gain in an attempt to get more power. Headroom is good.
