What is it in an amp that allows some to be stable at 1 ohm and others to only be at 2 ohms? I really want to have an amp that is 2 ohm stable like this one but i want it to put out at 1 ohms as well if i upgrade to a larger sub. Will this amp blow up if wired to 1 ohm with a DVC sub?

Its not gonna blow up but at the same time is is not recommended by kicker to be ran at one ohm.

what is your sub dual 4 or dual 2 that is what determines what ohm loud it can be played at

So why is it not recommended? Are all amps not recommended to be ran at 1 ohm? Will it put out more than the rated 1000 watts of power at 1 ohm if i did it? Right now i have the AQSD2.5 which is a dual 4 ohm. But if i want to upgrade i could get the HDC3 dual 2 ohm and wire it down to 1 ohm and get more power using the same amp.

the hd3c is rated at 1000rms

Your going to have to ask kicker why its not recommended to be ran at 1 ohm.

this amp puts out 1200@2ohms and around 600@4

if you know what your doing then this amp can be ran at 1 ohm

i ran my zx1500.1 at 1 ohm for about 6 months with no bad side effects.

as long as your smart about it. it should be a problem.
