People really get attached to their animals, they really do become another family member and after years you would do anything to help them. I'm sure you did everything you could have for your cat, and he had a great 17 years with you. We're gluttons for punishment getting more animals, but they help with healing and become family members as well.

here is a pic of my two kitties. They are brother and sister. Fatso Boy is 15 pounds and his sister, Baby Girl, is 9 pounds. They have to be everywhere I am. They follow me around the house and I can let them outside and they stay around my house. Are you cats a specific breed? They look like one of my six cats, Dumpling we figured she was part Persian, she's longhaired and every spring we have her shaved down so she looks even more like them. Here's a pic of the six pack.
