I no longer have my explorer so i no longer need this alt. Ive put maybe 15k miles on it and it works great. It fit my 98 explorer 4.0L SOHC and is a direct bolt on. Its a 250 amp excessive amperage alternator. $200 shipped

SOHC wasn't available till 97 FYI, so it's an OHV... and alt prob wont work...

this is what another place had for the SOHC alts (I wondered if there was a chance it would fit my 5.4)

by the way they fit (92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 2001, 2002) Ford Pickup, SUV, Van : 4.0L, 4.2L, 5.0L, 5.8L, 7.3L

would it fit my 97 explorer? its a regular 4.0 EFI, but not SOHC

i would imagine that if its got the same case and will bolt up, that the plug will probably match on it also. I cant say that im 100% sure that itll work on the 97 explorer or aerostar though.
