Afternoon all!

Just joined here but have been on DIYMA since 2010 and car forums in general since 98.

Back in the early mid 90's had an 87 Toyota Supra Turbo that was running around with (prepare for a list of old school stuff) an Alpine Deck (built in 3 disc changer, they only made that one model), Phoenix Gold PLD-1, Phoenix Gold 215x (yes the one with the built in crossover), got to a Phoenix Gold M50 and a Pioneer 2 x 40watt amp. Speakers were initially a Polk 2 way Components set and a Polk C4 subwoofer. Then I ditched the polk components and got a ID CD-1e Full bodied HLCD with the CS-1x crossovers.

In the end all of it was sold as that car died of Rod knock in 2004 at 225k miles.

Currently I am piecing together a system because, i remember what i wanted and could not afford back then...

Desk: Pioneer RS-D7RII

Processor: RS-P90 but might change to a more current DSP.

Amp: Mcintosh MC431M for hlcd

Brax MX4 pro for mid and may BASS duties

Midbass: undecided
Subs: undecided

I was never a bass head, always gravitated to SQ side of things.

New ride is an 89 Toyota Supra Turbo

I love the 80's supras, I was around them when I was younger, super cool cars. Welcome!

I know the MA70 supra like the back of my hand. I belong to Supraforums since early 2000's (even though it say 2004, i was there as part of the pre-crash forum) and Supramania even before that when that was up. They call me an old timer there. lol

If I could pick any car in the world to have, it would be a gen 4 supra.

When I worked at an audio shop, we had a pair of late 80's 7m supras. One had a mild cam in it. We had a customer that had a couple of skylines, I know one was an R34, and I think the other was a R32. Both had like 500 HP or something close. Fun times. I drive a 6 speed manual 3.0 L straight six, but it's german haha.

Hey I like those N54 engines on the BMW's. I also like the I6 in the older Datsun 280zx. Ford Barra I6 are awesome but not available in the USA (sadness). We never got the good stuff here.

I do like the redline on my car. It's NA, but it's fun. Gets good mileage if you keep it basically under half of the redline. Great interstate cruiser. Definitely seems to be built for constant high speed driving.
