Friends HU got locked

My Friends battery died so i helped him replace it and now his HU is locked and asking for a code.

...Anybody got access for a mitsubishi eclipse. I can get more info if you the help is available.

Go to local dealer. It should be covered under warranty.

Its $50 to get the code over the phone from the dealer. I already got all the numbers VIN, Serial, MODEL, Etc from the car and deck. Trying to find a more sensible solution...CHEAP.

They're not very likely to turn you down or charge you when you're right there with all the necessary paperwork and your car which is covered under warranty... It's not your friend's fault his battery died.
