right now i'm running a check disk and it's taking forever with my big drive. i'm gonna run disk defragment once it gets done. then probly do another thorough clean for now.

when windows vista comes out in january, i'll probly buy a new drive and just do a clean install.

I wont do vista till SP1 comes out. We got some copies of enterprise here to test out for the district and I wasnt impressed.

You have Longhorn Server? I know it's shipped out even though there are KNOWN bugs submitted BY developers... They pushed it out just to make the release date.

nah we wont upgrade any servers for along time. we just started using 2k3 servers this year. when you have over 100k nodes you have to be pretty cautious on updartes.

I won't use Vista, period. I paid $10 for my copy of Linux, it does everything I need.

my current system is a P4 3.2(s775), 2GB PC4200 DDR2, 2 x 120GB sata drives. I might swap the P4 for the Pentium D 960 if I go to vista.

SpaceMonger is a good program to find where your problem areas are. I found a bunch of hidden files on my computer that were huge and did not need to be there.
