Free-air VS Sealed

i want a little bass in my ext cab Taco but dont want to give up any seating or storager room my question now is would i gain a significant amout more bass by running these Kicker 08CVT654 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19517 sealed b/c if i build a box for the right airspace it will have tobe 1'LX1'HX4"D and im just not sure how i would get that size box back here

but the kickers are a free-air sub with a Fs of 53.9Hz i know its beter sealed than free air but will it be such a significant diff that i need to worry about putting a box behind it or should i just "great stuff" it

I don't see how you're going to go IB w/o a trunk ... Also, IB is a major pain in the *** to get right ...

As long as the space behind the door panel is large enough (what is it again, 3X Vas?) it doesn't matter if it uses a trunk or not.

so should i use great stuff in all the corners to make sure its sealed and ill be ok with a kicker 6.5 or should i go with something like DD W6.5

As long as the space behind the door panel is large enough (what is it again, 3X Vas?) it doesn't matter if it uses a trunk or not.

3x Vas or greater as a rule of thumb ... In this case, about 1 ft^3 or more is required ... I honestly don't think there's that much space there (Looks to be about 3-4" deep, 18" high, 18" wide = 0.56-0.75 ft^3) ...
Anyways, you can use the doors and it will act like a sealed enclosure ... but invest into damping material, otherwise you may be disappointed ...

i have about 4" depth not sure about the H & W but i will find out

so if my sub has a VAS of 21L and i 3X taht and convert i come up to about 2ft^3 wow thats alot so i will be better to seal of the cab sids and dynomat it and i should be ok

would i get better lows out of a DDW6.5 which DD considers a mid bass or a Kicker CompVT 08CVT654 which i guess is a actual "subwoofer" srry bout all the ?s i just dont want to spend $105ea on DDs if the kickers will do about as good for $60ea

As much as I love dds I heard they don't exactly sound the best i heard pheonix gold rsd6.5 components I heard they are amazing for the price
