hmm thanks for your help everyone, i really know nothing about the mechanics of cars. i was thinking it might save gas. thats really my ultimate goal is a towncar that isnt a gas hog.

You didn't say what year Lincoln... and what engine it has in it now. My bro had a '79 with a 400 ci motor that sucked gas bad. But at 5000 lbs no 4 banger is gonna move one. Some had 460's and were sweet rides, but not sweet on gas.

Late model Town Cars have 5 ltr motors that are decent with the overdrive trannies.

yea i do not care about speed AT ALL haha im fine with being slow as hell so keep that in mind. and im talking about a 1991-1994 around there

heh . . old town car . . economical . . lol. never happening

save for a newer crown vic with the 4.6l v8. they can get around 20-25 mpg in city if you take it easy.

explain how an i6 would be better off the line than a v6?

the i6 would be faster off the line but the v6 would have it in the long run!
