Found my motor today!!

Went out to the salvage yard today , and scoured the yard for potential candidates to go in my car. And the final decision was a 3800 that was in a mangled buick le sabre. Coolant was beautiful , under hood was spotless , oil was not too old either. Dropped the oil pan to check for any loose rods and all were tight. Compression was 165-170 on every cylinder also. So i started dismantling the cradle and got it out on the ground to start tearing the motor down. I only need the block because the top end on my original motor had all been rebuilt recently. While dismantling this motor i came across a strange tag i've never seen before. It said Remanufactured By GM , and it had specs of all that was changed internally , and the date it was remanufactured. It was remanufactured in 2002 and is bored .030 over. All is well in buick land tonight , by the middle of the week i will be mobile again!!! With a newer , BIGGER motor too. I feel like a kid at christmas , i just can't wait!!

Yay!Sounds like a nice find
was so thankful to find it , most out there had oil in the water or water in the oil , loose cranks , weak compression. Best part was someone had already taken the cradle half out and bought the ****** , so all i had to do was drop a few more bolts and cut lots of wires. LOL

had a rear main seal seeping and the top end is different than mine. different computer , induction , and FI system. Similar design but different all the same. plus it was gonna be 400 for the entire engine. I only paid 100 for the rolling block , with cam , lifters , timing gears ,chain and cover , balancer , oil pump , oil pan , flexplate and water pump.

thanks. good luck with my new door speakers is more like it. i'm gonna break them in this weekend. My buddy lives in a rural part of town and they are gonna be swung wide open and about 3/4 volume the whole day. Just transfered my library to my netbook and it gets 9 hours on battery. LOL. Hope the ol battery charger is up to the challenge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
