fosgate amps underated ?

Hi, all I have a couple fosgate amps that I am going to be using in my van. they are a 100zII and a punch 150s. The amps seem to be pretty powerfull for only 25watts rms for the 100 and 37.5 for the 150s. they seem to run about the same (maybe a little more)as my coustic 260 which is 45 watts rms. are they rated at a lower voltage than other amps, or are they just under rated?

Or is it just my imagination?

About how much underrated are the new amps? Take for example last years model punch 100.2 or something like that with an rms of like 37.2 watts rms at 4 ohms, how much could you really expect out of it? Im just curious.

My rock fos amp I had tested and it was 424 watts RMS when it was ratted at 400 watts RMS. It is a new amp as of october, just to give you an idea of how under ratted they still are

All I know is my brother's old punch 75 was no where NEAR 37watts per channel. Running bridged it absolutely killed every 10 he hooked up to it, and is maxing out his punch Z 12" in a 1ft sealed box (I know it's a cheap sub, but still...)

The old punch's are WAY under-rated.

i agree. i recently purchased the 351M to power my xtant 10 inch, and it came with an "as tested RMS of 402 watts" but is supposed to be only 350 watts rms. i havent tested it, but i am curious now and will have to do it. it def pounds hard in my car and gets the job done.

I would conservatively say around 15% underratted for the newer ones based on some recent birthsheets
