I am new here but been around car audio for awhile and I run some older stuff. My question is, I have a Fosgate 400.1 (I believe) and it gets HOT! I was running 2 JL 12w0-8s and it was really hot, now I am running 2 sets of components with it and it still gets hot. Any ideas? They are mounted under the rear seat in a Tahoe but there is good air flow and I run fans on the amp rack.

Thank you. That is pretty much what I was looking for. I got it when I bought my Tahoe and it has ran hot since I have had it. One other question, it has the flippable cards in the bottom for HP/LP and also a pass through set. I realize what the cards for channels 1&2 and 3&4 are for, but what about the "pass through" set. I can't find any info on the web for this amp, so this is my last hope.

Yeah, I think its a RF thing. Any of them I have seen get hotter than he!!, never had one over heat though.

Pass through might just turn off the xover, so all frequencies get through.

I really have no idea, just a guess. I know most RF amps have a switch for High pass, low pass, and all pass.
