I think unless you're getting one used they're a tad expensive new. Is it the older one with the silver/aluminum cone or new with the black? I was actually thinking of getting a T1 or T2 12" if I could get it off Craigslist for cheap but they never pop up... And to answer your original question I think it would take 1000 watts without a problem.

it's one of the black ones, it's a t0 which is sorta new, rated to take 800watts rms
