Forza Motorsport 4

I hate my PS3. It was a waste of money. I got it when GT4 was supposed to come out ages ago. Then it finally came out and it ******.All it does now is run Netflix and the box does that now.
Considering GT4 came out on PS2, sounds like you were already behind. Haha.

My son gave me his PS3 for Christmas and bought me GT5 to go with it...just so I could compete in the academy. -Which I had never heard of until after I had the game (un-played) for weeks.

As a simulator it's not too bad. It rewards good lines and inputs and punishes poor positioning and ham-fisted inputs. Still, the feedback is rather vague and no matter how good the graphics are, the visual cues for judging distance at speed just don't cut it. (Although I doubt anything short of true 3-D could)

Forza has much better feedback, and feel with the assist off. The GT5 gameplay wasnt as bad as the interface and options

Forza wins over gt5 mostly because of the trigger controls for the pedals. It is much easier to modulate and feed in inputs, than it is on the psx controllers. I don't like to compare the games one on one, to me one is a driving simulator (Forza, more realistic in its operations) and one is a racing simulator(GT series, hence more arcade like in its operations). They both allow you to accomplish the same thing in the end, but the experiences getting there greatly differ.) I used to be the biggest GT series fan boy growing up, but once they kept pushing GT5s release date back and back, it gave me the opportunity to play Forza 2 and I have never looked back at GT since then, with the exception of a couple drunken multiplayer races on my buddy's ps3.

One of the other instructors at the track owns both. His attitude toward each seems to depend on his mood.

He's the one that talked me into trying the Academy. Out of ~55,000 entrants, I ended up 27th for the SE region (4 regions total) in round 3. The cut for round 3 was the top 8 from each region. The competition was extremely tight.

The other instructor went out in round 3 also, but he finished 26th in our region. ~0.06 seconds ahead of me. (That's the total gap after two different tracks)

-And 'll never hear the end of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
