is there a point in paying $369 extra for a ia20.1 over a sundown?i mean 300 rms isn't worth that much in my book. also i know most buy the ia inorder to run under 1 ohm but now that sundown is warrentying people running at 0.5 ohms now so ......

aren't they only warrentied if run at .5 with mags though?

EDIT: also kinda different animal anyways. the 20.1 is great for competitors cuz of the 4ohm rating among other reasons i'm sure.

a 20.1 will do about 4k @ .25

and i think they've been known to do over 3k at 1ohm but im not sure where i heard that so it might not be true

plain and simple...IA 20.1 is a beast. but its a bit on the expensive side.

so yeah... 369 bucks your more than half way to getting another 1500...

besides, the sundown has a bulletproof warrenty

2 year limited transferable warrenty + 5 year heavily discounted replacement

try finding any other amps that has that running at .5 ohm

if you don't know why they would underrate it then you don't know much,

a vfl 150 is rated at 150 watts but will do close to 4k(.33 ohm, 18v)

that did make me chuckle alittle inside, specially since it was already pointed out why they'd underrate amps in this thread before that

im still rolling on the floor, because i've had 2 and niether came even close to 3k watts at 1ohm. i'd like to see the test or grph of someone who runs them at 3k watts at 1ohm at a regular voltage, not somethign like 16v or 18v

IA20.1 isnt one of those amps that you get 3k watts will 1800 advertised at the same ohm rating. been there, thats the reason for the ROFL

I remember a showdown between the 20.1, 2500D, and the SX 2500.1(maybe KX line). And the 20.1 was beat out by both the orion and the kicker at 1ohm, and did low 2000's at 1ohm, IIRC. But if you can show me where is put out ~3000 then you can shut me up.
