ford stock head unit in an avalanch???

does anybody know if a stock ford explorer head unit would fit in place of 2002 avalanch head unit? obviously i would need to change the "stock" connectors but that wont be a problem

my neighbor needs me to change out his aftermarket head unit to something else and i was just curious if it would fit in were it would go because he is going to be selling it soon and he doesnt want to sell it with the head unit in now and he doesnt have the stock head unit for his truck and i have 2 spare stock ford head units so i thought it might work i just need to know if it will fit

you could make it work, not a dumb question jsut needed an explanation. you may have to modify the bezel or make custom brackets however

chances are that stock head unit isn't going to fit perfectly into any other car other than the one it came out of.

Buy a new HU? Like something that will work instead of tryin to get another "stock" HU to fit in a completely different car?

Not knocking you, but I would not even waste the time tryin to do this. My question is why?

It'll work, but it will require modification to mount it up, they have completely different mounting formats.

not worth the effort IMO, get a cheapo aftermarket one off sonicelectronix, they come with dash install kits for free

just contact junkyards for a stock unit or buy a $20-50 cd player for it on craigslist local
