Ford f-150 regular cab 12 inch ported build

Ultimately decided to go with building a box my self. I have no idea what sub I am going with, I assume I need to get a shallow mount one...considering its a reg cab. After doing my research here is what I have gotten so far:

1. Measure the back of my cab at comfortable seat angles and distance. Measure length, width (at bottom, and at top, and the height.

2. Go to home depot and get appropriate material (should I get them to cut them, or get my experienced carpenter family member to? lol)

3. Build the box based off designs from the various tools online. Would need some help with specifics, need some hand helding here.

4. Get subwoofer that complements my amp (will figure out what amp I have tomorrow). Probably should make sure subwoofer matches box BEFORE i build it. ha

5. Install all of that?

1. Yes.

2. Family member... preferably when he's sober.

3. Don't use the RE box calculator. I hear a lot of good about Torres but have not used it.

4. I have never been able to get my subs to compliment my amps. All they do is make loud boom sounds. ;-) And yes, choose a sub before building a box.

5. Yes.

What sort of box do you want to build? i.e. Ported or sealed?

How much power do you plan to run?

What size sub do you plan to use?

What sort of music do you primarily listen to?

Would I get more bass out of taking out the bench seat, putting in bucket seats and building a console box?

What materials would I need for each build?
