I have heard that upgrading rear speakers messes up the sound stage. However, in my 2003 ford explorer my rear door speakers are only about 1 foot behind me and the fronts are about 3-3 1/2 feet in front of me. Also I don't necessarily care about sound stage, I just want LOUD. I am thinking about replacing my stock rear speakers with a set of Boston Acoustics SR80's, powered by my Boston Acoustic GT-42. Any suggestions, comments, or informaton of any sort would be helpful.
Thanks
My current setup
HU: Kenwood DNX 7120
Fronts: Boston Acoustics SR 80's
Rears: Stock
Subs: JL 12W3 x2
Amps: Boston Acoustics GT-42 (powering fronts and subs) but I also have a Boston Acoustics GT-24 I could use to power the subs if I do need to amp my rear speakers.
Thanks
