we'll im out in the boonies and have had dialup since '99. But i'm now upgrading to dsl //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif It's now available in my area finally http://www.teleshare.net/Internet/highspeed.htm My brother bought it and it's crazy fast, he ran a test from cnet.com and it shows to be the fastest of the other dsl that were tested. Now my question is I have two computers one for my use and another for my dad. So as much as I know is that im going to need a router to have the two computer running the internet simultaneously ( which really isnt need but I dont feel like disconnecting the connection from one and going to another.) What router do I get just any dsl router or what? from what i've been told this is wireless dsl, so can I get a router that has wires or would it need to be a wireless router as well?

if the 2 computers are close you can get a wired router if their far away might want to get wireless.

Any brand router will work and will be one of the best when it comes to wireless, but if you just need a simple solution(wired) a cheap d-link would work great.

wow thats something i didnt even think about lol....well there in seperate rooms not that far but I dont feel like running wires so i'll prolly just find a wireless router. How much does one go for and if both computers are running the internet at the same time do they share the speed or what?

yeah you really shouldnt notice the dicrease in speed unless your uploading, but the cheapest route would prob cost you 80-100 and that includes the router and wireless adapter for your computer

If you have wireless DSL, you may have a wireless router built into your DSL Modem contact the DSL Provider and ask them. If it has a built in router than adding another router will cause both to not work.

not true, If Im on and my daughter is on VMK.com I notice a big draw because of all the downloading required for the game on that site. Its not just uploading that causes bottlenecks in your connection downloading too.

Yeah i think the most popular one is a 2wire house portal?
