I love your setup.... plz dont blow your subs....too nice to replacei would like to know what causes subs to crap out, too lazy to hit search atm
Probably should have put that in the first post. All that clipping is is the transformation of the signal's waveform from sinusoidal to rectangular. What that means is that if you picture the sine function from 0 to 2pi, instead of a curve, make it 2 right angled boxes with dimensions of pi x 1. The integral of the function aka, the amount under the curve is the amount of power being transferred. As you can imagine, a square wave has more power underneath the curve than a sinusoidal curve does. As a result, a clipped signal CAN send more power to a speaker than normal, but clipping is not the cause of blowing the speaker.wow.....what does it do then?
You mean protection mode? That is caused by the amplifier being pushed too hard which causes clipping, but unless the amplifier had enough power to blow the speakers anyway, that wasn't the cause.I sold my amp to Kieth H and he said it was stuck in clipping mode.. so it blew his Type R's
Do you not understand what I wrote? A clipped signal does not affect a speaker any differently than the same signal of a sinusoidal waveform.interesting...so my gain control is going all the way up, full blast now....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
1) the roll of the eyes was sarcasm.....Do you not understand what I wrote? A clipped signal does not affect a speaker any differently than the same signal of a sinusoidal waveform.
