Anyways, since the last bulb replacement there has been this error message coming up once a week..something to the effect of..."Airflow restricted, please check. TV will now shut down in a few seconds"...then the TV shuts down. The only way for me to get it to come back on was to take off the back panel, and using my shop vac, clean every visible surface, then do a system reset. Well, i called customer service and they are as useless as a door knob on a brick wall. So today i went on their website and i see a message they posted to owners of certain TV's.

"Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc (MDEA) 2006 DLP® Projection Televisions

Models: WD-52631, WD-57731, WD-65731, WD-Y57, WD-Y65, WD-57732, WD-

65732, WD-57831, WD-65831

It has come to our attention that a limited number of DLP® Projection Televisions are displaying a false message, "TV will shut down in a few seconds. Please check if the air flow is blocked," and then the TV shuts off. This message is being caused by a loose connection and may be easily corrected through one of our Authorized Service Centers.

As part of our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, MDEA is announcing an extension of the warranty coverage to replace the thermal sensor for the above referenced models. For a period of two additional years beyond the one year limited warranty, MDEA will cover the cost of the thermal sensor (parts and labor) at no charge. All other terms of the MDEA limited warranty will continue to apply."

So i promptly look up the nearest service center, which is 30 miles away, and give them a call and they are going to fix the sensor, which will stop the error message, also they said they will replace the fan, which is known to be faulty plus Mitsu. came out with another style of bulb cartridge which he said would solve the bulb issue.

YAY for me but i still think Mitsubishi sucks balls and will never buy another one.

Good thing that they recognized the problem and owned up to it. The warranty extension is a nice bonus as well.

On the flip side, my Mitsu projection is still going strong.

Todays follow-up: so yesterday, the service guy actually came to my house to fix my TV. He told me that the airflow sensor power wire was too small for the application and because of this, the sensor could not work properly. He said there three are fans inside the TV and if the sensor was working propoerly, according to the temp. inside the case, the fans would come on as needed. Well since the wire was bad, the fans were not coming on as needed causing the bulb to overheat.

Now this guy drove 60 miles to my house, which he was not obligated to do, fixed my TV, gave us a free bulb (approx $120 value, gave us a written warranty extension) So my beef with Mitsu. is now over unless they prove me different.
