This is Vince's 06' M3 convertible. He has been a client for a couple years now and I never really posted pics of his car. It's been a work in progress as most projects are but this one is finally coming to end.

Here's the first system. He brought it to me with the equipment already in the car asked if I could make it look better than what was in there. I took out everything that was already installed and started from scratch. All the trim panels were covered with genuine Alcantara and a "///M" logo was embossed in the center of the panel. A carpeted cover panel covers everything up so the trunk could still be used. After I finished it up 3 weeks later one of the amps died so I told him it was time to upgrade. The system is put together via pressure fit. Not a single screw was shot into the car to mount everything. My client is a stickler for not modifying the car. This was the only point he would not budge on.

I started with replacing the amps for Focal Power series and upgrading the sub to a single Polyglass 33 V2. More Alcantara was used to make the new trim panel. A bigger "///M" logo was embossed in the panel.

More recently we turned our attention to the mids and highs. I replaced the front with a set of Polyglass 165 V30. ABS mounting plates were made off the the OEM speaker rings. To mount the crossover a piece of ABS was super glued to the door panel and then the crossover was screwed to the ABS. Some foam tape was used to seal the rear of the speaker from the front.

Since he wanted the option of going back to stock if he decides to sell the car I couldn't modify the molex plug in the door jam. So I soldered the new wire before and after the plug.

While I had the interior apart he had me wrap the dash and door trim with Alcantara.

Well that's it for now. On the list of things to do will be wrapping the center console with Alcantara and replacing the rear speakers with another set of Polyglas 165 V30's.
