FM Static

I have a pioneer head unit that was professionally installed and on the FM side I am getting static at certain FM Frequencies... what should I do?

Does it happen for certain channels, or is it all over the band? Does it occur at any particular location?

Static on FM is part of the game, if you're getting interference from somewhere.

Yes certain freqs like, 96.7 for one. AM reception is poor too. is there an outstanding antenna I can get? or a noise suppressor? The antenna is a stock in the rear quarter panel antenna. not all freq's give static but the am reception is poor. The deck is a Pioneer DEH560MP. I have added a Roady2 XM reciever and am thinking of getting the FM Modulator. is it worth it? or is it better to get the Terk XM system add-on specific to Pioneer Systems? Thanks for the help.

AM reception is bound to be poor in-vehicle, there really isn't much you can do about it.

I wouldn't get an FM modulator for XM, especially if you're expierencing static like that.

just about all aftermarket hu's have great tuners- if you are lacking reception is likely more due to location/vehicle/antenna...Also I've noticed in a few HU's that over time reception gets stronger

what about noise from The fan in the highest position. I dont think the fan made static noise until recently.

Any suggestions on better antennas?

I doubt the antenna is the problem...unless the ground has loosened itself or something.
