320 kbps (depending on codec/format) has been shown to be transparent to uncompressed lossless in ABX testing. The perceived difference is most likely in your head, not in the sound.

This. I cannot hear the difference unless I am critically listening...and at that point I am not enjoying the music anyway. I mostly listen to music while I am doing something else, so 320k Variable seems best for me.

how do u convert from flac to apple lossless? what program do you use? I try toimport them to itunes but it just didnt wanna import them.

And it is not going to apple lossless is itunes format. It is not going to convert Flac to that it also I dont think that you are going to find a program to convert it either losless is copyrighted to apple. Start buying your cd's from amazon for like 4 dollars each and rip them.I know what people do and downloading them off the internet in flac you are still going to lose quality. I do it 100% legit and just buy my cd's

I found buying CDs and ripping them is the safest way and ensures good quality. I don't rip to flac, just 320. What I'd like to do is find a legal and reliable place to download music at 320. Most places offer 256 kps at best.

Can't find exactly were, but the info is all over the Hydrogenaudio Forum. You can set up whatever you want with ABX software, no?
