Fixing a leaky C&D Batt?

Where is it leaking from exactly? Can you take a picture? It sounds to me like it was maybe overfilled a little. But ya if it is new and you didn't do anything to it I would take it back.

Most batteries are not technically "sealed" the gas from the charging process has to be released somehow. If it is allowed to build up to concentrated levels is when you have an explosion.

Alright, so the small cap was leaking, I would push down and a bit of the sulfuric acid would bubble out around the edges, I popped off the cap and found a small pool of acid around the terminal thing underneath, I mopped it out and will be watching it over the next couple weeks and seeing if any more acid ends up under the cap. If so, I guess my brand new battery is simply junk. I will never buy C&D again. Going to watch the Local CL for some Deka 9A31's.
