fix zune?

anyone know here how to fix a zune? the peice where you plug it in to charge, came loose and wont charge now.. figured ide ask some of the professionals here lol

BAH...i can solder it, but not with a tiny tiny iron lol. think its really that screwed? ill try n get pics later

yeah its screwed...those mini-usb connections are ultrasonically wire bonded to the boards on there.

To open the zune, you have to first pry off the long black oval shaped piece of plastic on the bottom, the part that surrounds the charging port. Then, there are two really small screws you need to take out and then you can pry apart the case. Pretty sure thats how it goes... for a first gen 30 gig at least. Then you can take a look at what exactly the issue is; that piece may have just come loose and you might be able to reset it and put it back together if you're lucky.

yeah i never got a chance to find a small enough phillipshead for those screws, but ill open it up and check it out. worst comes to worst, ill just send it out to microsoft to get repaired.
