Fix a torn rubber surrounding on a Digital Design sub?

Its been sitting in my garage for quite some time. I was wondering if i can repair this on my own, everything else on the sub seems to be fine, its just the rubber surrounding thats torn. Is there some type of rubber cement that I could use or material that I could stick on? I really dont want to get it reconed (shipping 50lbs back and forth + recone price).

It's really ripped too far to put it back together..if it was a small tear then you could use a rubberized adhesive...

You'll either have to do a recone or sell it or sit it back in the corner..

its been sitting in the garage for like 3-4-5 years and the rubber just naturally eroded. I was wondering if I could buy the rubber surrounding from some third party site and reattach it or something? Why replace the whole cone when only the surrounding is torn? There has to be some Do It Yourself techniques I could use, like the guy who did his own recone in the sticky on top of this forum... what do you guys think, something an amateur like me can fix?

you could fix it, if you can find someone to sell you just a surround......

you will have to be very precise after you glue it down to make sure the coil doesnt rub

You need a recone. Any patching that you do will be substandard and fail anyways. The price of owning a DD is having to pay the price of DD to recone it, since the big konaki debacle.

Dont monkey **** around with patching it. Call DD and get them to ship you a drop in recone kit. You will have to prove ownership with pictures of the basket and motor but it beats the hell out of a half *** patch job. Call and talk to Scott at DD he will get you squared away.(405)239-2800.

Or on 2nd thought if you dont want to mess with it, I can always use another D motor.
