Five Choices. ~1300watts. Need Input

Short answer...
NO...

To get type Arrggeesss to move like a ***** ape you need to dump more power than that on them... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Well they can DEFINITELY handle more, but i had 600 *over rated* on my 12 and that thing ****ing MOVED

I really really hate that this is my first thread.... another versus thread..... but it is only because I am so torn.
Alright, just sold 6 JL 10w1v2s.... My thoughts when I sold them were to go with a one woofer setup. No other reason for selling except for something different, because I did really like my 6 10s. They were powered with a Directed 1500d at 1.33 ohms, in a ~12 cubic foot ported box tuned to just at 32 hz. Alright... so all that being said:

I think I have finally narrowed it down to these choices:

-1 18" FI BL Dual 2 ohm (probably still at top of my list): so dual 2 ohm would be all ~1300 watts from the 1500d

-1 15" FI BL Dual 2 ohm: again all ~1300 watts

-1 15" Type R Dual 2 ohm: again all ~1300 watts

-2 12" Type R, both dual 4 ohm" so ~750 watts per 12

-2 15" Mach 5 Maws, both dual 4 ohm: so ~750 watts per 15

All setups will most likely go ported, in the rear of ext f150. Got plenty of room back there.

Criteria... needs to be as loud or louder than 6 10s just for own personal fulfillment. Need decent sq, but sq is definently coming second in this install. I don't need my doors rattling off or windows flexing further than woofer excursion, but if that comes with the territory then so be it. Sorry for the "versus" thread, but I am seriously torn between these woofers. I have ZERO experience with either FI or Mach 5, but have seriously given in to the craze over the last month of reading on this forum. Very affordable and people seem to get great results from both. A little bit of input is all I need, so help me out. Thanks in Advance.

well whatever your decision is don't go with any of the Fi products. definately go with the type r or check out some Rockford products

I've used alot of stuff, and heard even more, at the show last weekend I saw a treo ssx in a x cab tacoma do like a 142 new TL... along with an MT 18" in a hatch...

loudest car there had a pair of 12w7's with a T3000 did a 143 and some change...

my wife was in the smallest class with a single DD 9510F and pg x600.1 and did a 141.6 out of her jetta trunk... I built a box for my buddy's two R 12"s in his 90 pathfinder 6.5ft^3 86ish inches of port 35hz tune, off a T1000 he did a 142.2 and was beat by the guy with the T3000 and he took second... there were alot of subs there... my buddy has rl-i's and I meter'd another guy with Rl-p 12"s sealed and he did a 133 on my TL... all else equal no matter what you get it comes down to the box being right for the car. right facings, right tuning right sub for the application also, one 18" sub may want 15 cubes while another likes 5... one may want 400 inches of port the other may like 100... find the box for the vehicle no matter what it takes, then find a sub that works well in that box and you're set imo... oh yeah, everyone was playing music not burps...

or build it and be happy I suppose...

I recommend the FI 18" for sound on ear and second score on the meter, then the R for meter and second on ear. the ones my buddy has don't seem to hit the super low stuff too good so other setups may sound louder on ear because of the lower bass they're kicking out, even though it isn't their peak and not as loud as his peak the lows seem to stand out more because the flexing/air movment. if I made sense in this post at all I'm glad I helped lol

serious buddy.... i wouldn't be caught using any Fi products..... NEVER

i wouldn't call this that bad of a thread jack but here goes. from what ive read through searching the fi Q has a pretty killer low end, so the question is, how is the low end extension on the BL compared to the Q?

ive heard the BTL 15 and 18 just sounded like crap... also ive heard the BL's and the Q... just sound bad. also everyone buys them because people say that they're "good"... im not all about that bandwagon bull either

I had a FI Q 18 and it didnt fit my needs, and nomad40 can testify to that, and thats all I am going to say. Side note is this: some people have luck with FI some dont, but thats normal with every company, get with shawn flemming on the FI products he is a GURU at the least.

what was the Q lacking in your opinion?

In my application it just didnt get as loud as I would have thought, 9cubes tuned at 34hz with 1200rms it didnt hold up long at all and I was just not happy with it. At low volumes it sounded good in the SQ side, but it just didnt have that get loud attitude nothing like my aq woofers do.

my only concern with buying a Q was how loud it was going to get //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . im torn between a BL and Q
