Had the 4lber on a stringer when I caught the 5 pound.. Caught them in the EXACT same spot..

That 2 acre pound has produced NUMEROUS bass 5+ pounds. Largest has been an 11lber my cousin's girlfriend caught. I caught the 8lber catfishing with a live bream..hah.. My dad has 3 mounted that he caught all the same day on the same Rat-l-trap... I think they were 7lbs,6 1/2, and 6 or something like that. Pretty neat mount, wish I had a pic of it.

About a 5lb bass...caught it out of a 1/2 acre private pond. This is the 2nd 5lb bass i have caught out of this pond. The other i caught when i was 7. Going to get this one mounted to. Caught it on a little fake minnow about a inch long lol...heres a pic.

Yeah I never thought big fish went in little ponds. By my work their is a drainage pond for the city water system (retention I believe). There is a guy that has caught like a 6lbs bass and a 3 lbs bass out of there

Congrats on the catch.

I'm out searching for that lunker about every day. Today is the first day I haven't been bass fishing since mother's day. Biggest this season has been 5 lb. 6 oz. Catch and release is where its at for a fish that size. I'll mount that 7+ pounder I'm looking for.

yep, when your in north carolina, about all there is to do is fish haha. 3 times in the past week. caught something almost every night, or ateast got some good bites, considering about 30-60 min a nite

10lbs+ is mounting worthy.

Not throwing back worthy. Chances are, it wont be caught again. Also it'll let the little fish grow to be bigger. If you keep it, to mount or eat.

I've caught a couple 5+ before. Never got them mounted though, although I wanted to the first time.

I know every fisherman has the story about "this one time", well here is mine.

I wish fishing in a pretty big pond. I was fishing on the bank, and cast a Kudzu worm further down the bank and worked it back towards me. It was over a low tree branch that was hanging out over the water. All a sudden the branch breaks and my pole bends over. Drag goes crazy of course. I get the fish up to the bank after a minute or two. I'm with my friend and we have no net. I reel it all the way up to the bank and tell him to grab it. It had to be 10-12lbs maybe more (not huge, but definitely biggest I had caught). He reaches down to grab it, and the line breaks from me holding it up. I nearly ran into the water trying to grab it, but it was too late. To this day, every other fish I have hooked even if it is half a pound, I never reel it all the way in. I leave a few feet and then pull the line up by hand. When I lost this one, there was probably 2ft of line after the pole tip. I think that's why I lost it. I was pissed for a couple days. Still haven't caught one as big to this day. Here is a shitty cell phone picture of a decent one I caught a couple years back...

By the way, nice fish. It's hard to catch good size ones in small ponds. Here lately I have been bringing my catch back and putting them in a little pond below our house.
