FiQ vs JL W7

oh god you know jl w7 cant compete with the new internet bandwagon sub come on guy what were you thinking with this comparision, the jl haters havent even commented yet im suprised, lol

but im heard both side by side and they sound very close, both were in built to spec enclosures but the w7 seemed more accurate from a few songs from the focal demo disc they were using to show offf the 2 subs side by side. buth had great and deep low end. but the W7 just had more SQ to me, Both are great subs the Fi does have a sexy motor, and the Jl has the sexy face and overroll.

either sub is nice but the Q gets my vote do to it is some much more affordalbe and like said they sound **** near the same

werd, W7 is just overpriced, if he is stuck on the W7, have him look into the 13AV.2 from Elemental Designs, half the price and pretty much the same.

but the FI Q is a hard sub to beat, awesome SQ and gets stupid loud with the right power and enlosure.

I'm very tempted to get one for myself..... but I just got my SE12 about a month ago and I haven't even had a chance to put it in a ported box yet.......and I've only got a JL 500/1v2.... half the RMS of the Q. w7 is considered a sq driver, so is the 13w7, both companies focused mainly on sq with the ability to get loud. 13av.2 is half the price, 13av.2 is a winner!!

What about the SSA Icon or the ID MAX? I have never heard the FI Q but the Icon and the ID MAX sounds pretty **** good. I dont know if they get as loud as the W7 but i think these 2 actually sound as good or better.

hell if he got the money then he can get (3) w7's, wire them into 1 ohm and power them with a sundown 3000D, that'd be heaven

Neither is a bad driver, I just hate it when people make blind statements with nothing to back it up.

IMO, every driver listed in this thread is going to offer similar performance at a similar price.

What the OP should be focusing on is what he needs out of the driver, more specifically can it handle the amount of power you're planning to run. Will the speakers fit where you need them to, how much are they going to cost? Etc. Etc.

When it comes down to it, flip a coin, and you'll probably be happy.

A plus with the Q is with the BP option it can handle 500-600 more watts than the W7.
