FiQ vs JL W7

Friend of mine is looking to buy a 12 powered off of a JL 1000/1v2, he's choosing between a JL 12w7 or FiQ 12 to use as a daily "all around sub", he wants to retain good SQ but he wants it to get loud while doing so. I tried to talk him into RE MX, but it seems as if he's got something against RE..... I dunno. Besides the fact that the FiQ is a lot cheaper, which sub would out-perform the other in terms of SQ/SPL? Enclosure will be ported, of course. I think the w7 has 2mm more of xmax.

(Me personally would take the FiQ, but that's just me)

there are many more factors than just xmax and 2mm would not be considered "crucial"

I'm sure on teh interweb the Fi is better, but in reality I'm sure the W7 is a better built, better sounding driver that can play just as loud or louder then the Fi.

If money is no issue, go with the JL, otherwise the Q is still a great choice.
