Finished my first ported enclosure

I'm glad u like the IDMax, I just got my 5.4 c^ft tuned to 28hz (2.7 each) freaking huge box weighing 113 lbs, made by IonSQL. Had 2 IDmax's but both blew 2 days before I got my box (was in 1.5 sealed, with Hifonics BX1500D) amp fried and took the sub's with it, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well, most people don't know intercooler vents from their elbows. Yes, I have stillen hoses, HKS intercoolers, JWT pop charge and software, Turbo Genie exhaust, SZ subframe spacers, Greddy Turbo timer, UR l/w pulley, race pipes. I have a set of SZ downpipes sitting in the garage waiting for the clutch to go so I can swap those in while the ****** is out anyway.
Also, non of this stereo is permanately mounted, so it can come out at a moments notice. The butt dyno shows no loss from the added weight.
You don't loose hp with weight. It just takes more hp for the car to go faster with the extra weight.

Mmm, delicious Z. However, year? No HICAS, no care //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It's a 95. And it has HICAS. It's the electric hicas though, not hydraulic like earlier years. Which gives me just a little more room under the hood, not enough to make anything any easier though. But with it being that set-up there is no kit available that I know of to get rid if it like there is for the early years.

Nope, I think that you're stuck with it. I know Stillen made that kit to get rid of it in the '91 (both of my dad's were/are 91s), but they got fancy and stopped making it purely mechanical. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Oh well, it's still nice to get the WTF!@! feeling in the middle of a high speed lane change! It's just not something you can get used to.

Thanks. I originally wanted to f=do a sealed enclosure in the left corner, but I know nothing about fiberglass so I didn't want to take on such a project. Although I may no that I do have something to listen to in the meantime. I just hate the idea of paying ome shop gobs of money to do something like that. Although it may come to it. I went out tonight and took the box out and the car instantly raised up 5/8 inch. Yuck, who knows how much father it would've came upi over night. I may have to ditch this big beast and go with something a tad more conservative.

lol thats funy 5/8" is a big drop. usualy a well design fiberglass enclosure will be a good 75% lighter. in my belive. and youll get the same output and if built right again it will look 100 times better. and show quality.

maybe in the future youll try FGing and get good enogh to build one for the 300Z.

i have seen one in all black fiberglass work in florida. that thing was bad *** . floting amp and 4 12" subs, it was clean and loud as hell. hella show quality car. i loved it.

but hey may be if you practice youll be able to do it. sell that enclosure to a friend after you have covered it in some thing. make a good $200 bux out of it. and with that money. do your first fiberglass job.

just make sure you ask allot of questions about fiberglassing, make a drawing of how you want it to look . and i can help you on the prosess of building it. from a far. lol

ps check out http://fiberglassforums.com/index.php for allot of good info on fiberglassing.

The only problem that I can see is there dosen't really seem to be enough space for the proper air space. I guess I could stuff it, but I don't know how exact that is and don't wanna be stuck with something that sounds like shit.

the you can make a falce floor for it and build it there it will be out of the way and you have the wheel well, that will give you allot of air plus the falce floor will add the extra volume and you can flush mount the amp inthere too. thats kind of the plan i have for the saturn that im building right now.

Yeah, that's what I was gonna do with my JL 300/4, 500/1, and 10w7 but never got around to it. Plus my math skills are long since forgotten on how to measure the volume of a cylinder.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif 3.14*????
