Well, finally got to upgrading my alt + to battery + wire. Used some eKo 1/0 wire. Both my grounds had already been upgraded, but this one is special cause it was nearly impossible to get to, somehow I did it. Voltage used to sit around 13.6-13.8 with the engine on, now it's around 14-14.2. Surprised me a bit, I didn't really expect to see a rise, but hey, that's fine with me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Pictures are nothing special, but they do show how small of a space there was to actually work with. Anyone with a VW knows they can be a female dog to work with, mine definitely was not an exception.
That's pretty much the area I had to work with, had to work around that stiff stock wire. As you can see, the wire is going away from me, and this is at the bottom of the car, so that took some planning. Had to file the ring terminals down to fit too. I was able to fit a ratchet in there, but had to use my fingers and imagine where the post was to get the nut off and put it back on later.
Here's a pic of where the wire goes from the alt.
Yep, pictures aren't too great but it was a nice sense of accomplishment, thought I'd let you guys know
. I won't really be able to see how it helped dimming/voltage until my box comes in, I'm just running one Rl-p at ~1000 watts.
