I was thinking the same thing. It's a good start though. Just a little finishing needed and it could work.

thread title should have been "look I mounted my amps to plain MDF" nothing "clean" about it, unfinished at best.

IMO, you should've gone with some thinner sheets of wood to save some weight. Or a different type of wood. MDF is quite heavy. 1/2" would suffice for that use.

Also cutting the wood to contour to the sides would looks nice.
