so, i have jl 6.5 xr's and an old pioneer hu. my goal is to go active in the next few months with either the 800prs or 9887. i need to get one more amp for my tweeters. is there any basic start up advice i need to know before going this route?

is it true that you get better sq with the internal amp on the hu turned off or is that a myth? i know on the 880prs model you could do that

the internal amp in the hu 'shouldn't' have anything to do w/ the rca preouts.

Have you ever felt some of the heat produced by those internal chip amps? On some head units you could double the duty of the internal amp to power something AND make Smores on your drive to work or school:laugh:

lol funny. ok, this might be kind of a stupid question, well probably. if the tweeters are the only thing run off the hu, will they see only the 22watts rms each or double? go ahead, i have my flame retardent suit on.
