ive got 5.5 cubes to work with. im goin with 2 12" SE's. im still kinda new and i have terrible math skills. i need to kno how big of a port to do. and if usin a single chamber has ne disadvantages. i really would like to kno how much the drivers and ports would displace so ill kno how much air space m drivers will have. thanks for ne help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Well....you now have yourself in a quandary //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You can't figure out what size (length) port you need till you know the net internal volume of the box; but you can't figure out the net internal volume till you know the displacement of the port. Does your head hurt yet?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

IMO the best thing to do is to start out with the net internal volume, then determine the port length, then figure out the external dimensions. On the website it says that each 12" needs around 1.8cuft....so I'd use 3.6cuft or thereabouts as your starting point for net internal volume. Then you need to decide what tuning frequency you want.

Disadvantages of a common chamber is that if one sub fails, it may cause damage to the other sub. That's about it though...
