anyone think i should replace the type r's with rsd comps and amp them? but I would have to find someway to get a 6.5 speaker in there. I guess I get to build an putty some more stuff.

Yes you should, its not hard to custom make a ring with mdf and mounting it. You will hear a big difference. And also consider deadening your doors if you got the money. All in all, pretty good first setup. Alot better than my first setup.

if you don't want to go through the work, you can get the 5.25 rsd comps

I could get some deadening and I prolly wont do it until the summer when I'll actually have a steady job. The mdf rings I'm not worried about, its making it look good is the problem. I'm really not happy with the lack of midbass with the 5.25's and since they arent amped, they play down into the sub range which sounds horrible.

what size and tuning is your box

and http://www.partsexpress.com has nice carpet for cheap, get some of the 3M spray glue too, it works great
