Fiberglassing Hatch

tell you what. your best bet is to cut out the spare tire well thing - its kinda like a hump through the middle of the spare tire well made of metal. then make a box that is about 5~10 inches shallow of the lip of the hatch, and cut a hole in the bottom and glass down into the tire well. then mount your 4 12" rings where you want them, and then stretch from the box to the rings and glass that. once its all done, make anotother set of 12" circles (does not have to be a ring) and stretch glass from the weatherstripping around the hatch and pull it to the other glassed box using the second set of 12" rings. this way you will have a sealed box, and a 'beauty panel' to make the whole trunk look as the enclosure.

its going to take some work on the back side you see from inside the car and if you stretch the fleece across the entire hatch then the bass will be sealed in that little pocket between the glass and the fiberglass. so i would recommend stoping the beauty panel about where your strut mounts and the horizontal hump right behind the seats are. that back side is going to be the tough part, but if you do it right, it should look cool.
