i was thinking of constructing my box as follows... it will fit in between wheel wells up aginst back seat...

-sides molded with fiberglass

-front, back and top of plexiglass (1" thick)

-bottom of mdf

my question is how do u go about attaching the fiberglass to the plexiglass? is there a way? reason for plexi, is to show off the nice chromed competition subs... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanx for the help!!

um. you can try adhesion promoter - its like a spraypaint chemical. you can get it at any store that sells spraypaint.

first of all, you are going to want to sand that surface a little bit. i would tape off the area you want to stay clear on the box (at LEAST 3" from the edge of the plexi), then i would sand that 3" so its quite rough and a good surface to stick to. then id spray the adhesion promoter. then i would set up all the plexiglass how i wanted it - and then fiberglass everything how its supposed to go.

if this is your first time fiberglassing. i can almost guarentee its not going to turn out great. id practice with some wood before ruining $100+ of plexi.
