Fiberglass Pod Worklog [PICS]

Does the driver side obstruct your view of the road?My other concern would be the x-over point between the midrange and midbass, thats a tricky one with 3-ways.
zero obstruction, i have a huge dashboard. unfortunately i'm not going active nor did i build my own x-overs so i don't have any control on the x-over porints. i'm using the eurosport x-overs for now.

i tell you what, your stage is gonna be mighty high. i like it.
how are you going to actually mount them to the locations they fit into?
they fit into the existing location where the factory grill snapped into place. i had to do many test fits to make sure the base of the pod is snug. if not, it would probably slide/pop out of place while i'm driving.

what type of fleece is that? looks mighty thin....and stretchy....something I should use....what is it?
hehehehehe...kinda embarassed to say...but what the heck. it's an old boxer...lol! but seriously, it's a good material to use since it's extremely stretchy.

now that i think about it...i don't think i washed it:sick:

let us know how it sounds with midbass in doors b/c i plan on doing something very similar to this, work looks great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well i after adding a layer of mat, i decided to give the pods a test run to get an idea of what they will sound like so i could either scratch the project or continue through with it.

mounting the crossover. luckilty this beast of a crossover fits in the factory location of the 5x7 speaker.

unfortunately, the es-600 midbasses doesn't fit my current door pod. so i had to use my cl-6 midbass for early testing.

after the first rough test of the pods, i am pretty happy. since i put the pods off axis, it helps with the imaging a lot. can't wait to get the es-600 midbass in. pods for them are next.

nice work but not very stealth? make sure you fit a good alarm.

it's actually very stealthy. when i park the car for a long term or not in safe area. i simply pop out the pod. i'm using neutrik 4-pin connectors so disconnecting/connecting is a breeze. i can even pop in the factory grills to hide the x-overs. if i'm not parking long term, i got a truck size sun shade that covers most of the dash.
