fiberglass or wood?

ok, i'm going to be building a box in the next few weeks for a 10" se, which will be sealed. but my hatch has some weird angles, and was thinking maybe it would be easier to glass it, rather than deal with wood. the box will cover half the hatch, from the trunk latch over and measures about 1 cu ft. its going to line up exactly with the black covers in the pics. any thoughts?
