Fiberglass Kick Panels for Boston Z6's in 96 Explorer Worklog

What I don't understand is why many of the ones that use factory panels buy junkyard parts to work with. If you like the finished product you have just wasted whatever you spent on the panels.

Why dont more people mold them into factory kicks?
Factory replacement kicks for my 95 tahoe were only ~$28 bucks, so if you mess up you dont lose much.

You have a nice car, on nice rims, with a very expensive system, why are you skimping out on the install?
not only is is the only way that it fits comfortably with 2 people sittin in the seats, but the e-brake is a big problem also. I tried to fit it off of the kick panel, but it looked kinda funny. It fits a lot more plush off of the area it will be in now. Don't worry, I did all of my planning ahead of time, and I am worried more about imaging than how it looks, even though finishing it correctly would be.

btw, I used the laser pointer trick and got both to point within an inch toward my trajectory point. If I used the factory kicks to build off of, there is no way that I would have gotten even close to what I wanted as far as imaging goes.

EDIT: It's not like they're going to look like this....

More pics of that set-up here, and NO IT IS NOT MINE LOL!

After using the dremel sander, I dry fitted them. I plan to add carpet which will be the same color as my carpet is now. As you can see, if I would have glassed these off of the factory kick panels, there would have been space issues with my left foot and e-brake, and my passenger's right leg.

Molded the hood release, ebrake goes ALL the way down, and got imaging to the opposite headrest.

Your kicks look similar enough to mine to do the same thing.

Im not downing your work, just dont understand why you didnt go for looks while keeping great imaging in mind.

wow....****...those are really good...how much would it cost for you to the exact same thing, w/o the tweeter holes?....you have a subarban im guessing...a 99?
