Fiberglass encolsure

depending on weight of the speaker, enclosure and it's mounting position you can get away with using velcro strips. glue one side down to the car, then glue the other side to the enclosure. use lots of strips and it should hold well.

you really should never use velcro strips to hold down a heavy enclosure, pretty silly. things like that need to be screwed/bolted down.
x2, i'm not really a fan of getting belted in the head w/ a flying enclosure in the event of an accident.

Yeah, velcro...while you're at it replace your seatbelts with velcro on your seats and pants...
Are you suggesting we all install a seatbelt in the back of our car to hold down our enclosures?! GENIUS!

I'll talk to the manufactures! They'll be on the production line in no time!

Great job, helotaxi!

It would make more sense than thinking velcro would hold anything weighing more than a few ounces in place in the event of even a panic stop. And you obviously can't understand analogies and sarcasm only being able to take everything exactly as stated. A seatbelt would work better than velcro, though.

Actually depending on the Velcro it will hold. Some Velcro are VERY strong. People have been known to climb buildings with it. You just need the right kind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No kind of velcro will hold. Don't fool yourself. I use the industrial strength stuff (only comes in grey and is much stronger than the one you posted the pic of) to mount crossovers and small stuff like XM tuners in the dash. Think about it this way, in a crash the deceleration forces are on the order of 20-30 Gs. That means that the 100lb box now effectively weighs 2000+ lbs. You can separate the velcro with your hands. Think it will hold over a ton? Think the adhesive will hold over a ton? Really?

Bolts and large washers, that's the only way to go.
