Fi SSD

First of all, none of Fi's subs "NEEDS" more power than they're rated, like any other subwoofer it's good for the overall sound to have a little extra on tap for the headroom... However with the BP Power option you can safely run a little more power to them... The SSD's are generally able to handle around 1100RMS with the BP option... even without the BP option it's a good idea to run them at full power for the full effect... My little brother's 18" SSD is an absolute beast on his SAE-1200... I think if you buy them you definitely won't be disappointed....

i can agree with this

how do you think they will compare to my 4 e8s... i'd also have to get a new amp that will put out around 1600 watts in the size of an SAZ1000d because it has to go under my front seat... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I can't answer that question... I've never had any experience with the E8's, although I'd like to they look like really mean little bastards... I do know that as soon as I finish the van that I'm getting a set of 10" SSD's with BP and copper coil options for my '01 Jimmy...

but doesn't it being copper require more power to move it since it is heavier... i don't have much room to work with here.. i'm in a double cab tacoma with subs behind rear seat and amps under front seats...

i might buy a pair if people think they will perform better than my 4 e8s...
well go with twelves instead of tens. then it will be nice lol. i have never worked with either. i like the e8s theyre beefy lol. but i say do it for a different thing to work with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

No, doesn't require more power.... but it does add a little weight, here's Fi's description:

Copper coil: The copper coil is a heavier coil and adds mass to the moving assembly. In comparison to the stock coil, or the flatwound coil, this has the smoothest transitions musically speaking. It is less likely to peak, and is a better overall sub for more Sound Quality based daily drivers.

I can't fit 12's... not even sure if I'll have enough room for the 10's.. i'll only have right at around 1.8-2 CUFT for the subs
